Meet Dasha: Straptor Sports Tape's Newest Sponsored Athlete

We are thrilled to introduce Dasha, a dynamic netball player whose journey in the sport has been nothing short of inspiring. From the tender age of five, Dasha began her netball journey through a beginners' program, laying the foundational skills that have propelled her to where she stands today in the netball arena.

By age 10, Dasha had already made her mark by joining her first representative team, stepping into the competitive Netball Victoria pathway. Her early exposure to representative netball has shaped her into the formidable player she is today.

From 2017 to 2021, Dasha was a key player for the Parkville representative team. After aging out and taking a brief detour into AFL—a decision that she credits with refining her athletic focus—she returned to her first love, netball, with renewed vigour. Her return saw her playing pivotal roles, from winning the Under 17’s Grand Final with Gisborne FNC to playing for the BFNL’s Under 17’s rep team and making it to the association finals.

The year 2023 was a cornerstone in her career, earning her a place in the Elmer region’s Under 17 team at state titles and an invitation to trial for the Victoria Under 19’s state team, where she made the top 25. The following year, she continued to shine by winning awards and championships, culminating in taking the title at the state titles as an open-aged player.

In 2024, Dasha not only won the Rising Star award from BFNL league but also competed in the Bendigo Strikers’ inaugural VNL Development squad. Her relentless pursuit of excellence continued into 2025, joining the Western Warriors’ U23 squad and returning to Gisborne FNC’s A squad, proving her commitment to competing at the highest levels.

Dasha’s achievements extend beyond playing; she has also earned her C badge in umpiring and contributes to the sport as a valued umpire, demonstrating her all-around dedication to netball.
