Welcome Olena to the Straptor Team: A Journey of Resilience and Excellence

We are thrilled to announce the newest addition to our Straptor family, Olena, who joins us with an incredible background in gymnastics and a deep passion for sports and athlete development.

From an early age, Olena demonstrated her dedication and talent in gymnastics, starting her journey at just three years old in a kindy program. By the age of five, she was already part of a development squad, marking the beginning of a promising athletic career. Her hard work and determination paid off when she secured her first major victory at the Australian National Championships at only nine years old, taking 1st place in her division.

Olena’s journey didn’t stop there; by twelve, she had made it to the Australian Junior National squad and represented her country on the international stage, including competing at the prestigious International Gymnix in Canada. Her achievements during these formative years set the stage for her future in gymnastics.

The challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic brought unforeseen disruptions to Olena’s trajectory. Yet, she emerged with resilience, transitioning to the senior international program and achieving notable successes, including a top 5 finish at the Gymnova Cup in Belgium and a 3rd place team finish at the DTB Pokal Cup.

Olena’s journey has been about more than just her successes. It has been a story of overcoming adversity, from dealing with the uncertainty of program funding cuts to stepping up as a coach to support her fellow athletes during critical times. Her leadership qualities shone through when she obtained her intermediate coaching accreditation, demonstrating her commitment to giving back to the community that raised her.

In mid-2024, Olena faced a significant setback with a shoulder injury that required surgery. Currently, she is focused on her recovery, working diligently on rebuilding her strength and skills in preparation for upcoming World Cup events and the 2026 Commonwealth Games. Her determination and relentless spirit are an inspiration to us all.

At Straptor, we are excited to have Olena bring her wealth of experience, both as an athlete and a coach, to our team. Her story aligns perfectly with our mission to support athletes in reaching their full potential through high-quality, reliable sports strapping tape and support products.
