Welcoming North Sunshine Football Club to the Straptor Team!

We are excited to announce a new partnership with the North Sunshine Football Club (NSFC), a cornerstone of local sports since 1967. Known for its rich history and dedication to community engagement, NSFC has been a beacon of sportsmanship and team spirit in the area.

Originally founded by a local priest as Crossroads Football Club, NSFC began as a junior club, fielding teams in the under 9’s, 11's, and 13's divisions. Over the years, the club expanded to include under 15 and under 17 teams and introduced a senior side in 1979. This growth marked a new era for the club, culminating in their senior side winning the division Grand Final in 1986—a testament to their hard work and team cohesion.

In 1984, NSFC further solidified its commitment to fostering local talent by adding a Reserve grade side to the competition. The addition of this team, alongside the establishment of a third senior team and a 'superules' side in the early 90s, reflected the club’s expanding influence in local sports.

The turn of the millennium saw continued success, with the Reserves winning a Grand Final in 2000 and the senior side triumphing again in 2003. However, recent years have been challenging, and NSFC is now in a phase of rebuilding, reinvigorating its programs, and reconnecting with the community.

Today, NSFC boasts a diverse program that includes Auskick, two junior sides, a senior women’s side, senior men’s and reserves sides, and a thriving netball program. The 2024 season marked a significant milestone with the addition of a second junior side, driven by the club’s proactive community outreach and clinics in local primary schools.
